Follow Friday

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. It's a great way to meet new blogger friends. This weeks question is:

Q: Summer Reading. What was your favorite book that you were REQUIRED to read when you were in school?

Hmm....I loved Macbeth by William Shakespeare. Lord of the Flies stayed with me long after I read it. I also did a book report on Pride and Prejudice which is one of my all time favourites.

TGIF at GReads! is a weekly blog hop hosted by Ginger from GReads

This weeks question is

Christmas in July: If Santa were to come down your chimney in the middle of summer, which books would you want him to leave for you under the tree?

Can they be books that are not out yet? If so The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin, Scarlet by Marissa Meyer and, one that is already out, Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn.

Happy Weekend!

  2. So interesting... I never really was able to get into Macbeth - or any Shakespeare for some reason. I know that's like, an awful thing to say as someone who considers myself a book lover - but it's just the truth! Great post and new follower here. 3. I have to admit Shakespeare in school didn't really grab me, I thought about trying again now that I'm older.

  4. I haven't read any of those yet. I feel so out of the loop because they are some really famous books. Maybe I will readd them before the end of summer

  5. Lord of the Flies made my list as well! All of my classmates hated it, haha. And yes, William Shakespeare and Jane Austen are both two of my favorite authors, though I don't think I was ever required to read Austen for a class.

  6. Ohh great choices! Macbeth and Lord of the Flies weren't my absolute favourites, but I enjoyed them both. Lord of the Flies is definitely the kind of book that makes you think.. Like, "Would that seriously happen?" Kind of crazy to think about! I adored Pride and Prejudice though! And we also got to watch the movie in my class, which was a lot of fun. It's one of my all-time favourites!

  12. hopping by, I was not able to get into those books, just at that age, could not get interested, but i also am not into sappy romances either, I need me some paranormal and sci fi, and fantasy. And now, I don't like to read really sad books where animals die, like In Old Yeller and Where the red fern grows, the ones that left an impression on me when I was in HS, (long time ago)

  20. MacBeth was my favorite of the Shakespeare's that we read. We did Lord of the Flies too and it stuck with me as well but there were others that I enjoyed more.
