Follow Friday

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. It's a great way to meet new blogger friends. This weeks question is:

Q: Do your reading habits change based on your mood? Do you read a certain genre if you are feeling depressed or happy?

I don't select books based on my moods, but I believe enjoyment of a book can be shaped by my mood.

I try to not allow it to influence anything and just enjoy the book for what it is though.

Happy Weekend!

  2. Hopping through. Yes, I know what you mean about enjoyment being affected by mood. When I'm in a bad mood, I have less patience.

  4. My moods always influence the books I read, thats why I often change if I'm not in the mood.

  7. For me I find my mood changes the genre that I want to read. I go through blocks where I only read one genre, then I randomly change to another one. But I don't find myself reading certain books because of the way I feel. Although I do find that the way I feel has an impact on how much I enjoy the book! So if I'm angry or sad I try and take a break from reading till I get over it :)

  8. " I believe enjoyment of a book can be shaped by my mood. " - I'm with you there. Quite a few times, I think I've enjoyed a book less because my mood was pretty sour. Less lenient toward the flaws in it, sadly. It doesn't happen very often though, thankfully. I think I sometimes pick books based on my mood - sometimes if I'm just tired of paranormal romance, I'll get all grumpy reading another if it follows the same trend. So I tend to go to a different genre until I'm in a better mood!

I love comments. Thank you for stopping by my blog and thank you even more for leaving me a comment.

I have decided to make this an awards free blog. I appreciate the gesture, and love that you thought of my blog, however I simply can't pass them along as required.
