Waiting on Wednesday...The Casual Vacancy

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

My pick this week is The Casual Vacancy by JK Rowling

Here is the Goodreads synopsis
When Barry Fairbrother dies in his early forties, the town of Pagford is left in shock.
Pagford is, seemingly, an English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, but what lies behind the pretty façade is a town at war.
Rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils…Pagford is not what it first seems.
And the empty seat left by Barry on the parish council soon becomes the catalyst for the biggest war the town has yet seen. Who will triumph in an election fraught with passion, duplicity and unexpected revelations?
I am sure everyone has this on their wishlist already and are counting down the days until this comes out. We do not have long to wait now, and I am beyond excited to start reading this.

Expected release date - September 27, 2012

  2. I am really excited about this book but only because Rowling wrote it. Though I don't like the cover.

  3. I have not heard of that book before, but hey, I'm no JK Rowling fan (not that I don't like her, I just haven't read Harry Potter, and no, I probably won't ever.. just.. no time T_T).

I'm glad she keeps on writing, tho! It's great to see her publishing new books! :)

I have decided to make this an awards free blog. I appreciate the gesture, and love that you thought of my blog, however I simply can't pass them along as required.
