Follow Firday

Alison Can Read Feature & Follow

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. It's a great way to meet new blogger friends. This weeks question is:

Today’s is the US’ Independence Day. Share your favorite book with a war in it, or an overthrow of the government.

It terms of overthrowing the government I would have to say the Hunger Games Trilogy. More specifically Mockingjay. The entire trilogy has such a powerful message, and Katniss because a reluctant face of the rebellion.

Happy Weekend!

  2. Great answer. I think I liked #2, Catching Fire, best. Everyone told me it wasn't good and then I read most of it with my jaw on the floor. Mockingjay was good too, though. :D Great pick! Old follower here.

My FFs are HERE and HERE. Happy Friday!

  4. I liked Mockingjay much better than Catching Fire but I don't think it captivated me quite as much as the first book. I did really admire the world building done by the author. It has such powerful images and messages.

  5. The Hunger Games certainly fits the category of war books. I chose George RR Martin's Game of Thrones series because of the war for the Iron Throne. Have you read it or watched the HBO series?

  9. I just couldn't finish this series, too depressing. But I did read the synopsis and think it was very powerful. Happy Friday! Old follower.

  12. I have seen The Hunger Games around a lot today. I haven't read the series (it freaks me out too much) but it's a great choice.

    Thanks for sharing :)
