Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. It's a great way to meet new blogger friends. This weeks question is:
Today’s is the US’ Independence Day. Share your favorite book with a war in it, or an overthrow of the government.
It terms of overthrowing the government I would have to say the Hunger Games Trilogy. More specifically Mockingjay. The entire trilogy has such a powerful message, and Katniss because a reluctant face of the rebellion.
Happy Weekend!
It seems everyone is using this book!! hahah!! I really enjoyed these books.. they fit perfectly.

Great answer. I think I liked #2, Catching Fire, best. Everyone told me it wasn't good and then I read most of it with my jaw on the floor. Mockingjay was good too, though. :D Great pick! Old follower here.

I never really thought the hunger games hit their potential.

I liked Mockingjay much better than Catching Fire but I don't think it captivated me quite as much as the first book. I did really admire the world building done by the author. It has such powerful images and messages.

The Hunger Games certainly fits the category of war books. I chose George RR Martin's Game of Thrones series because of the war for the Iron Throne. Have you read it or watched the HBO series?

For me, it was more of the first book, but I loved the entire trilogy also. New follower via Bloglovin', but old one from GFC.

I just couldn't finish this series, too depressing. But I did read the synopsis and think it was very powerful. Happy Friday! Old follower.

I have seen The Hunger Games around a lot today. I haven't read the series (it freaks me out too much) but it's a great choice.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing :)
