New To My Book Closet

It's that time of the week again. Time to show you what bookish goodies made their way into my home and book closet (to be saved from the evil book eating cat monster named Aria). This is inspired by the various "mailbox" posts out there (eg. In My Mailbox by The Story Siren, and Stacking the Shelves by Tynga's Reviews).

I had a pretty busy book week. I got some fantastic titles and other goodies.

For review

Dearly, Beloved by Lia Habel (goodreads)
Flirting in Italian by Lauren Henderson (goodreads)
Meant To Be by Lauren Morrill (goodreads)

I enjoyed Dearly, Departed so much so I am freaking excited to start this one! Meant to Be is all about cuteness and London and swooning so I am looking forward to it. Flirting in Italian = cute Italian boys hopefully so perfect for the summer. VERY EXCITED!

A huge thank you to Netgalley and Random House for these titles.

From the library

Isle of Night by Veronica Wolff (goodreads)
The Academie by Susanne Dunlap (goodreads)

I was very happy to find both of these in my library! Hoping to get started on them very soon.

A huge thank you to Elizabeth Richards who sent me some signed (and so pretty) Black City bookmarks!

Happy Sunday and Happy Reading!

Waiting on Wednesday - Isle of Night by Veronica Wolff

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

My pick this week is Isle of Night by Veronica Wolff

Here is the Goodreads synopsis

Is life offering fewer and fewer options? Then join the dead.

When Annelise meets dark and seductive Ronan, he promises her a new life-if she has the courage to chance the unknown. Now, she's whisked away to a mysterious island and pitted against other female recruits to become a Watcher-girls who are partnered with vampires and assist them in their missions. To survive and become a Watcher, Annelise has to beat out every other girl, but she's determined to do so, because to fail doesn't mean dishonor-it means death.

This is being called The Hunger Games meets Vampire Academy. It certainly sounds unique, and I hope it's as good as it sounds!

Expected release date - September 6, 2011
