Weekly Obsessions

The awesome Kelly at KellyVision started posting a weekly post highlighting whatever she happened to be obsessed with that week. I LOVE this idea, so much in fact that I will be doing it myself every Saturday.

A small Weekly Obessions post this week. I am looking forward to all of the movie trailers that are coming next week so expect it to be a little bigger next week!

Cover Of Four Dead Queens by Astrid Scholte (goodreads)

I immedately loved the look of this cover and how eye catching it is. It also helps that the book sounds amazing (it just happens to now come in pretty packaging).   

I really like the colour scheme of the cover. It makes the crowns stand out sharply against the backdrop.

TV/MOVIE

A Simple Favor Teaser Trailer

This trailer pretty much shows next to nothing about the plot of this movie, but I am so in. It has a mystery at its core and seems like it might be dark and twisty.

I look forward to seeing if the full trailer gives a little more insight into the plot. Either way I'll be going to see it when it's released.

ALA 2018

It is June so that means that I will be in New Orleans THIS MONTH! I am getting pretty excited. I cannot wait to see everyone, go on some ghost tours, and basically be surrounded by people who love books as much as I do!

My reaction when I came across the announcement that Novelly Yours was going to be releasing a Stranger Things themed box for June would not suprise anyone who follows this blog. It would be an understatement to say that I thrilled. A box full of amazing things inspired by my fave TV show? SIGN ME UP!

I love my Friends Don't Lie candle from this shop and fully intend to try to snag one of these limited boxes. It comes with 5 candles (which is worth the price all on its own) and other goodies! New To My Book Closet

It's that time of the week again. Time to show you what bookish goodies made their way into my home and book closet (to be saved from the evil book eating cat monster named Aria). This is inspired by the various "mailbox" posts out there (eg. In My Mailbox by The Story Siren, and Stacking the Shelves by Tynga's Reviews)

My mailbox this week was filled with amazing goodies that I cannot wait to share.

First up is the Stranger Things inspired candle I ordered from Novelly Yours.

 The packaging this comes in was super cute! I love the little bookmark, and the candle smells amazing. I used it while binge watching the second season and it was the perfect choice.  I highly recommend this candle shop if you're looking for a fandom inspired scent.

Next is a book I purchased thanks to my current obsession with My Favorite Murder, and Mindhunter (and all things true crime to be honest).

My Friend Dahmer by Derf Backderf (goodreads)

This graphic novel looks at a young Jeffrey Dahmer through the eyes of someone who went to middle school/ high school with him. It's an interesting, conversation starting read. It paired nicely with my wine and bath bomb as well.

Lastly, I also received a package that made me squeal with happiness. I was sent an early copy of a book that I am VERY excited about (and it fits the who true crime vibe I have going on this week).

Lizzie by Dawn Ius (goodreads)

I am beyond excited to dive into this one. It is going to be my next read right after I finish the one I am currently reading. It is going to be perfect for the current spooky season. I'll probably live tweet my reading progress with non-spoilerly reactions if you're curious!

New To My Book Closet

It's that time of the week again. Time to show you what bookish goodies made their way into my home and book closet (to be saved from the evil book eating cat monster named Aria). This is inspired by the various "mailbox" posts out there (eg. In My Mailbox by The Story Siren, and Stacking the Shelves by Tynga's Reviews)

I had a bunch of goodies make their way into my mailbox in the last little while.

First up are two candles that I ordered before Christmas and waited to share as some of them were gifts.

I especially love the Bucky Barnes scent while it is burning. It is lovely. I may have to order a larger size of that one.

Next up I ordered some lovely bookmarks from HappyHello on Etsy. I love my Stranger Things one so much! They are super cute but Will is noticeably missing so I may have to get one specially made to complete the collection. 

I also got her Will and Lou from Me Before You set! How cute are they?!

I also purchased a few things from Hot Topic this week. A colour changing Stranger Things mug!

It is amazing. The letters R, U and N turn red when heat is applied, and the background fills in white. It is pretty much my new favourite mug. 

Lastly, I manged to score this Joker Funko Pop. I previously showed that he came in two editions (regular colour and this special edition black and white option). I hit it lucky and was at Hot Topic when they put them out and scooped up the black and white edition as it was my preferred one. I love how the kisses pop as the only colour against the black and white.
