Follow Friday

Alison Can Read Feature & Follow

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. It's a great way to meet new blogger friends.

This weeks question is:

How have your reading habits changed in the past few years? Did you get interested in a new genre? Do you read more? Less? Why do you think your habits changed, if they did.

The only change in my reading habits since blogging is that I am much more picky in what I read. We have so many choices now, and amazing sounding novels are being released all the time. I feel I am more careful on what I request for review, pick up from a bookstore, and borrow from the library. I want that reading experience to be one that I enjoy, because I could be missing out on another amazing read instead.

Happy Weekend!

  1. Hopping through. I've become more picky as I've blogged more. There's only so much time.

  2. I'm not super picky in what I read, but I'm definitely picky in what I review. There's just too many choices. Totally agree! :D Happy Friday!

  3. I agree about needing to read the more amazing reads first, but I opened up to not so popular books because some are really good too. :)

  4. While blogging and reviewing consistently and hopping on tours has made me a tad more picky, I also found that it just blew my doors open on books I never would've approached/heard of before. I love scrolling through bloglovin (I should be more diligent about commenting! ) and discovering something new. Blurbs are important though to grasp my interest!

  5. New Bloglovin follower! I've only just started blogging so I wonder how that will change my reading habits over time. I can see how in writing good reviews one must be a bit picky in choosing their reading material. Great blog!

  6. I'm so bad about this. I'm not too terribly selective and will read just about anything. It gets a little disappointing when books don't live up to my expectations. Old follower.

  7. I agree, I've always been a very picky reader though, and I've been trying to be more open minded the past few years. It doesn't always work out too well, but I have found a few gems now and again. I judge a book on how it makes me feel, so I only review books that I have a strong reaction over. Love your blog!

  8. Amen to reading being something I want to enjoy! I'm in a bit of a reading slump right now, I think this last bit of winter weather and a busy work week of really drug me down. I'm looking forward to warmer weather and finding just the right book to pick up!

  9. I tend to be more picky too, but sometimes I like to pick out books that I wouldn't have otherwise, just to see if I might enjoy them, and some of them actually turned out to be pretty good. :) Have a great weekend!

  10. Even though I'm reading more widely now that before, I find myself getting quite picky too. Hope you have a great weekend :)

I love comments. Thank you for stopping by my blog and thank you even more for leaving me a comment.

I have decided to make this an awards free blog. I appreciate the gesture, and love that you thought of my blog, however I simply can't pass them along as required.
