Letters to the Dark by Brigid Kemmerer (goodreads)

The announcement of this one has me REALLY excited. Here is the blurb released in the sales announcement details. It sounds amazing.

Pitched as a grittier version of You've Got Mail for teens, in which a girl copes with her mother's death by leaving her letters at the cemetery, until a boy intercepts them and starts writing back, and soon the two find themselves falling for a stranger--except they're actually classmates who loathe one another.

Love that it's one of those hate each other at first but fall in love after actually getting to know each other. I am all over this when it releases. No release details are currently available but I think it's 2016.

I am not sure what caught my eye about this cover other than I love the minimalist look, and that the title of the book is inside the artwork itself.

It's certainly eye catching and I am very intrigued to learn more about the book that will be inside this cover!

Aquarius Promo

I've been obsessed with this show since it was announced. I am VERY intrigued by this promo. The video is country blocked so I will replace it with one that is viewable to everyone when it becomes available.

I love David Duchovny's final line and am liking the cast and vibe so far. I am looking forward to the premiere even more now.

True Detective Season 2

  

I liked season one. I don't think I was as blown away by it as others, but there is no denying it was compelling. The second season has it's first teaser and I am SO excited. I am happy to see Taylor Kitsch back on my TV.

Doesn't tell us much about the actual plot, but I am looking forward to seeing Rachel McAdams in a grittier role than she normally plays.

Seth Meyers Invites Jon Snow To A Dinner Party

SPOILERS FOR GAME OF THRONES

This video is HILARIOUS! Jon Snow is basically the worst dinner party guest ever. This little sketch has plenty of spoilers for the TV show/books but if you've seen the show already, it's pure fangirl bait. Jon's vehement protestation that "Winter is coming" got me giggling and I didn't stop laughing until the end.

My Favourite Manson Girl by Alison Umminger (Goodreads)

I stumbled across this thanks to Kelly from Kellyvision. This sounds like it has the potential to be amazing.

Tells the present-day story of 15-year-old Anna, who escapes to Los Angeles for the summer and finds herself immersed in the story of the Manson Girls and begins to see disturbing parallels around her. 

I am very intrigued and look forward to hearing more about it as we get close to it's 2016 publication date.

MOVIE/TV

Disney's Beauty and the Beast live action adaptation

It was recently announced that Disney will be doing a live action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. It will closely follow the cartoon and even have many of the beloved songs from the classic tale. Emma Watson has signed on to be Belle (obviously amazing!). Everything about this has made me very excited. I am eager for casting news for the Beast and Gaston to be announced!

Game of Thrones

I am officially caught up on Game of Thrones. I will be watching the next season in weekly doses like everyone else. I had my heart crushed at the Red Wedding (*sniff*), have cheered for Arya, and have learned to like some of the characters I hated. I cannot wait to see what is next for all of them.

The week of Christmas and up until after New Years Day is always quiet. Nothing is really being released or announced, so my obsessions post is really small this time.

TV

Game of Thrones

My sister got me to watch the first episode of this show over the holidays and I am pretty much hooked. I binged season one already and am making my way through season two. I've basically learned that Joffrey is the worst, Jon Snow is the BEST, and that I want a direwolf badly. I've been warned to not get attached to characters on this show, which scares me. I anticipate a lot of tears during this.

Book Expo America

Something about January makes my anticipation for May and BEA kick into overdrive. I think it's because I can officially say that BEA is THIS year. I already have my ticket and am making plans for my time in NYC. I cannot wait to see everyone and have an insanely fun bookish week.
