New To My Book Closet

It's that time of the week again. Time to show you what bookish goodies made their way into my home and book closet (to be saved from the evil book eating cat monster named Aria). This is inspired by the various "mailbox" posts out there (eg. In My Mailbox by The Story Siren, and Stacking the Shelves by Tynga's Reviews)

A few fun things made their way into my mailbox this week that I am super excited about!

First, my sister surprised me with this movie!

I am so excited to re-watch these this month! Scream is my favourite horror movie and I am happy to finally own a copy of it.

I also have received some books from Raincoast for review!

Waiting On Wednesday ... Pride and Prejudice and Mistletoe

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week's pick is Pride and Prejudice and Mistletoe by Melissa de la Cruz

Here is the Goodreads synopsis 

Darcy Fitzwilliam is 29, beautiful, successful, and brilliant. She dates hedge funders and basketball stars and is never without her three cellphones—one for work, one for play, and one to throw at her assistant (just kidding). Darcy’s never fallen in love, never has time for anyone else’s drama, and never goes home for Christmas if she can help it. Her parents throw their annual Christmas bash, where she meets one Luke Bennet, the smart, sardonic slacker son of their neighbor. Luke is 32 and has never left home. I only recently discovered that this book was a thing that exisited. I was immediately sold on the fact that this is a gender swapped Pride and Prejudice retelling. Yup, you read that right. Darcy is the girl! It is a fun twist on the classic story and one I cannot wait to read it.

It also has the added bonus of sounding like a really cute holiday. It comes out in October so there is barely any wait for for this one at all.
