Rachel doesn’t know it, but it will take her on all kinds of wild adventures – and get her in some romantic pickles too. And then it won't be a case of what but who she decides to tick off…

• Mr. bendy yoga instructor
• Mr. teenage sweetheart
• Mr. persistent ex
• Mr. deeply unsuitable

The Single Girl’s To-Do List gives Rachel the perfect heartbreak cure – and proves love is out there if you’re willing to take a chance.

I would like to start this review by thanking Ms Kelk for making me laugh so hard that I am pretty sure the bus full of people who witnessed it think I am crazy. This is just a fun, enjoyable read that will keep you turning the pages.

Lindsey Kelk’s writing is perfect for this genre. She has a quirky, fun British humour that will leave you giggling throughout the novel. She has just the right balance of humour, sexiness, and genuinely likable characters that it’s a perfect “chick lit” read.

This story starts out in a way that many girls can sympathize with - our heroine Rachel Summers is dumped. Dumped by her insensitive boyfriend and she promptly turns to her best friends for comfort. Rather than let Rachel mope they decide she should celebrate being single. Rachel has a thing for lists, and the Single Girl’s To - Do List is born.

The romance in this book was quite enjoyable. I got caught up in the chemistry between Rachel and the different guys that come into the picture. I did call early on who she would be interested in. It was fun to see her work it out, and wait with bated breath to see if they would finally get together.

Those scared that the romantic aspect of the plot will take over the novel - not to worry. The emphasis in this book is on loving yourself, and doing things for YOU! Do what makes you happy, and the relationship stuff will follow. The list of the title is a way for Rachel to get to know herself, and following her on that journey is the really charming part of the story.

I really liked Rachel. She’s such a typical girl. I mean that in the best way. She seemed average, normal, like someone you could actually know. This made character come alive. You were rooting for her in the way that you’ve rooted for Bridget Jones, Rebecca Bloomwood, or Rachel White. I loved that she was short, as I am barely 5’0. Every time she referred to herself as a “short arse” I couldn’t help but chuckle, because I could relate.

Rachel’s best friends Emelie and Matthew are the best friends every girl wants to have. They are supportive, they care about her, and genuine friendship comes through in the writing. I loved that they helped her through some of the items on the list.

If you are looking for a lighter read after something heavy, this is the perfect option. Smart, silly, sexy and enjoyable. It’s the perfect book to enjoy with a Cosmo, and maybe you’ll create your own to-do list.
