2nd Annual You Pick What I Read Event

You may recall last year I did an event where I had the readers of my blog choose what I reviewed for a week. It was so much fun that I am going to do it again this year.

I loved that it brought books to my attention that I would normally not have read. I am hoping for a fun mix again this year, and cannot wait to see what people recommend.

A few 'rules' before you leave your suggestions...

- I have to be able to access the book. This should be obvious, but I did have some books suggested that were either only available in advance reader copy format, or very hard to find. I either have to be able to get it from my library (which has a pretty extensive collection as I live in a big city) or purchase it online/at a bookstore.

- It can be either adult or YA or New Adult. I am open to reading anything. This is where the readers get a say in what is reviewed here on the site.

That's pretty much it. I don't have many restrictions so feel free to suggestion whatever.

Once I have suggestions I will be putting up a post where you'll get to vote for the titles listed and the three with the most votes will be what I review during a week in August.

So is there a book you loved and want me to read? Or how about a book you're not sure about and you want me to try it first? Just leave your suggestions it the comments for it to be included in the vote! Excited to see what everyone suggests.

It will be open for suggestions until Tuesday the 15th of July!

* If you follow me on Twitter you are also welcome to make suggestions there*

Vote For My Next Read

I've collected titles of books that people think I should check out. Now for the next step - voting.

I will review the 3 books that receive the most votes. In order to vote simply put the titles of the 3 you would like me to read in the comments below. I will tally them up at the end of voting and will announce the 3 winning titles, and when I'll be reviewing them. The titles with the most votes will determine which 3 win.

Voting will be open from today and end on June 15th.

Thank you to everyone who suggested titles, and everyone who will be voting.

The choices are -

The Pull of Gravity by Gae Polisner
The Mockingbirds by Daisy Whitney
Obsidian by Jennifer L Armentrout
Strength by Carrie Butler
Easy by Tammara Webber
Unraveling by Elizabeth Norris
Article 5 by Kristen Simmons
Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay
Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein

I've linked each to their Goodreads page in order for everyone to be able to look at the synopsis.

This has been really fun already and I can't wait to be exposed to new novels because of this.

Nominate My Next Read!

I read a lot of books. Over 100 a year. This is just a small fraction of the amazing novels that are released every year and I am sure there are plenty of fantastic ones that fly under my radar.

I wanted to do something that not only introduced me to new books I might not discover on my own, but also allows my readers a say in what I review.

I am going to dedicate a week to books have that been picked by my readers for me to review. I will review 3 that week (as I normally host 3 reviews weekly) and it'll happen sometime in July.

To start the process I am asking for suggestions on books you would like to see me review. Got a great book that everyone has to read? Want me to try something out before you read it? Nominate it in the comments.

A few little details .....

1. It can be either YA or cross over appeal adult
2. It does not have to be a new release, just one I haven't read yet
3. Sorry, no self published novels (as per my review policy)
4. It has to be easily purchased either in physical or e-book format

Otherwise that's it. Leave me your suggestions. I will narrow it down from there and have voting to determine which three novels I will feature during my first ever "You Pick What I Read" week.

Nominations close May 27th and voting will start shortly after that!

Thanks everyone, and I can't wait to see what novels you introduce me to.
