New To My Book Closet

It's that time of the week again. Time to show you what bookish goodies made their way into my home and book closet (to be saved from the evil book eating cat monster named Aria). This is inspired by the various "mailbox" posts out there (eg. In My Mailbox by The Story Siren, and Stacking the Shelves by Tynga's Reviews)

This week was filled with a bunch of packages!

First up are two new additions to my Funko collection. My Stranger Things collection continues with Mike and Barb. I love the little freckles that each of these Pops have!

They are seriously so cute! I am now just missing Lucas, Joyce, and Dustin.

Next are two books that came in for review. I am really excited about both of these!

Umberland by Wendy Spinale (goodreads)
Dear Reader by Mary O'Connell (goodreads)

A huge thank you to Scholastic Canada and Raincoast for both of these titles. I cannot wait to read and review them!

Next up was some goodies I received while attending the #FrenzyPresents event at Harper Collins. You can check out my full review of the event if you want to know which titles were featured.

A huge thank you to Frenzy for the review copies, and all of the rest of the goodies!

Romancing The Throne by Nadine Jolie Courtney (goodreads)
I See London I See France by Sarah Mlynowski (goodreads)
Ramona Blue by Julie Murphy (goodreads)
Dividing Eden by Joelle Charbonneau (goodreads)

I loved all of the postcards and buttons that were included!

This Red Queen map is amazing! I need to frame it and hang it on my wall!

I also received by set of tattoos for The Song Rising release! I am so excited for this to be released on Tuesday! I love this series and cannot wait to share my review of The Song Rising.

A huge thank you to Bloomsbury for sending these along. Be sure to snag your own set of buttons and tattoos when you pre-order your copy!

Lastly, a huge thank you to Penguin Random House Canada for the next exciting title to make its way into my book closet this week. This came in a very shiny envelope and caused much fangirling.

The One Memory Of Flora Banks by Emily Barr (goodreads)

Happy Weekend and Happy Reading!

Weekly Obsessions

The awesome Kelly at KellyVision started posting a weekly post highlighting whatever she happened to be obsessed with that week. I LOVE this idea, so much in fact that I will be doing it myself every Saturday.

First I am fully warning that there are WALKING DEAD SPOILERS BELOW!! Read at your own risk. It does spoil who Negan killed in the season premiere.

There have been lots of cover reveals and other exciting things happening!  The Harper Collins covers have especially been amazing.

BOOK

Cover for Dividing Eden by Joelle Charbonneau (goodreads)

Look at this amazing and eye catching cover!

I think that perhaps the same cover designer who did the Red Queen covers worked on this one. I love the simplistic but eye catching design and cannot wait to read this one. It sounds amazing.

Cover for Erin Watt's When It's Real (goodreads)

It is no secret that I love Erin Watt's The Royals series. I was thrilled to find out that another book would be coming out next year and this one involved a pop star and a regular girl pretending to date.

Isn't this cover AMAZING?! I love sparklers and everything about this book's premise. 2017 has amazing sounding reads coming up and I cannot wait.

OTHER

Steven Yeun on the cover of Entertainment Weekly

Obviously there are spoilers in this -- I let you know at the top of the post -- but I had to post this simply because I loved Glenn. He was my favourite character, but I knew it was going to go down the way it did when Negan and Lucille showed up.

This cover also happens to to be the first time an Asian male has had a solo EW cover which is awesome.

I am going to miss Glenn. I am going to miss the bright spot Maggie and Glenn were in the zombie apocalypse.

I am excited to get my copy because I cannot wait to see what Steven says about saying goodbye to a show he was part of for 6-ish years.

What are you obsessed with this week?

Waiting On Wednesday ..... Dividing Eden

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

My pick this week is Dividing Eden by Joelle Charbonneau

Here is the Goodreads synopsis
A sweeping fantasy, by the bestselling author of The Testing, about two royal siblings forced to compete for the crown.

Twins Carys and Andreus were never destined to rule Eden. With their older brother next in line to inherit the throne, the future of the kingdom was secure.

But appearances—and rivals—can be deceiving. When Eden’s king and crown prince are killed by assassins, Eden desperately needs a monarch, but the line of succession is no longer clear. With a ruling council scheming to gain power, Carys and Andreus are faced with only one option: to take part in a Trial of Succession that will determine which one of them is worthy of ruling the kingdom.

As sister and brother, Carys and Andreus have always kept each other safe—from their secrets, from the court, and from the monsters lurking in the mountains beyond the kingdom’s wall. But the Trial of Succession will test the bonds of trust and family.

With their country and their hearts divided, Carys and Andreus will discover exactly what each will do to win the crown. How long before suspicion takes hold and the thirst for power leads to the ultimate betrayal?
Not only does this book have a STUNNING cover but it also has one of my favourite hooks in a novel - sibling relationships. Two siblings who are thrown into a competition for a throne neither thought they would inherit. I am already desperate for this book and it doesn't come out until summer of next year!

Expected release date - June 6, 2017
