Weekly Obsessions

The awesome Kelly at KellyVision started posting a weekly post highlighting whatever she happened to be obsessed with that week. I LOVE this idea, so much in fact that I will be doing it myself every Saturday.

BOOKS

Cover for Of Curses and Kisses by Sandhya Menon (goodreads)

Fairytale retellings are always a favourite of mine and the fact that this is a Beauty and the Beast retelling set in a boarding school was enough for me to want it immediately.

The incredibly fun cover was revealed and I want to read it even more now.

I love the colour scheme and the font used for the title. It also done in a style that is very popular right now with the characters being drawn instead of using real people. This is a highly anticipated one for me and I cannot wait to read it.

Cover of Anna K by Jenny Lee (goodreads)

A story inspired by Anna Karenina and set in modern times. That alone should have you taking a second look at this novel. The adorable cover doesn't hurt either.

It's bright, and eye catching in a great way. I cannot wait to read this one!

TV/MOVIES

Queen and Slim Trailer

We had a teaser trailer which looked awesome, but not the full trailer for Queen and Slim has been released. It is sort of a Bonnie and Clyde story (which I have always been fascinated by) so I am obviously going to see it. Daniel Kaluuya looks to be giving a heck of a performance in this one.

The line 'Can I be your legacy?' gets me for some reason. This looks like it'll be romantic, heartbreaking and hard to watch at times.

OTHER

Recent Etsy Finds

I loved the third season of Stranger Things so was thrilled when one of my favourite Etsy shops, HappyHello, has these adorable Robin and Steve bookmarks from the third season.

The next item I absolutely love is this cute pin from the KrystanSaintCat Etsy shop. It is available in different colours, but the black and silver one caught my eye. I, obviously, needed to get one because it is very much on brand for me.

Stand By Me is one of my favourite movies (if not my absolute favourite). I immediately coveted this adorable art print that I found on the AnchoredDesignsUK Etsy shop. It has so many of my favourite quotes and just makes me so happy. Hopefully I'll get to own this soon and it'll find its way on to my wall at some point. It's too good for me not to own.

Weekly Obsessions

The awesome Kelly at KellyVision started posting a weekly post highlighting whatever she happened to be obsessed with that week. I LOVE this idea, so much in fact that I will be doing it myself every Saturday.

A little late with some of these but it has been quite hectic. There is a lot to be excited about though as we head into the much slower holiday season!

TV/MOVIE

Dirty John First Episode

True crime fans... your newest 'watch while indulging in wine and popcorn' obsession is here. Bravo just released the first episode of Dirty John early and I am hooked!

They have since taken down the sneak peek of the first episode but it airs on Bravo TOMORROW!

I am fascinated by the character that Connie Britton is playing. I already have LOTS of thoughts about so much of this story. I never got into the podcast but I am going to be watching the rest of this series. I understand that Netflix has the international distribution rights so hopefully they'll release it week to week!

Lion King Live Action Trailer

Disney has been releasing live action versions of their beloved animated movies and Lion King is the next to have a trailer be released.

Baby Simba is ADORABLE! I love that they have James Earl Jones back to voice Mufasa. That voice over gave me chills as a result. I am excited to see a full length trailer and hopefully see more characters!

Lion King Live Action Poster

More Simba cuteness came in the form of the first poster reveal for the movie.

Simba stepping into the footsteps of his father is such a strong image for them to use. It says so much about what the story is. This is going to be as heartbreaking as the animated version and I cannot wait!

HappyHello's Holiday Bookmarks (link)

It is no secret that I ADORE this Etsy shop. The bookmarks are adorable and the service is great. A bunch of holiday themed bookmarks were just put up and I am in love with one set in particular.

Wendy and Peter look adorable and cozy! I especially love the little kiss on his cheek. I urge you to check out this shop because I am sure there will be something you love on there (and it is perfect for holiday gift giving).

New To My Book Closet

It's that time of the week again. Time to show you what bookish goodies made their way into my home and book closet (to be saved from the evil book eating cat monster named Aria). This is inspired by the various "mailbox" posts out there (eg. In My Mailbox by The Story Siren, and Stacking the Shelves by Tynga's Reviews)

My first package for this round of #otspsecretsister arrived! Excited that my sister is local this round!

Next up is a new Funko I added to my collection. I had to get this adorable Jack Skellington!

Lastly, I once again had some custom bookmarks made by Vivi at HappyHello over on Etsy. I got her to make some for the new version of A Star Is Born and I LOVE THEM!

What bookish goodies made their way into your mailbox this week? Let me know in the comments.

Weekly Obsessions

The awesome Kelly at KellyVision started posting a weekly post highlighting whatever she happened to be obsessed with that week. I LOVE this idea, so much in fact that I will be doing it myself every Saturday.

A small Weekly Obsessions post again this week. Not to much new to report.

TV/MOVIES

Widows Trailer

Widows is one of the movies I have my eye on this Oscar season. The second trailer was recently released. I love that Gillian Flynn wrote this screenplay and I think you can kind of tell.

The cast looks great. Still very into whatever Daniel Kaluuya is doing in this movie. It's sure to be one that does well at the box office and we'll see how it does come awards season.

Happy Hello bookmarks for The Hating Game (link)

My favourite Etsy bookmark shop has made adorable bookmarks for The Hating Game by Sally Thorne. They're perfect and I love them so much!

I highly recommend this shop. It's popped up a few times on this site but the bookmarks are cute, the service is great, and she even offers custom bookmarks.

I had a lot of fun arrivals into my mailbox this week. First up, I manged to get the Billy and Mrs Wheeler (Karen) Pop 2 pack that was a San Diego Comic Con exclusive. I love them!

The cookie! Her nightgown! The hair on Mrs Wheeler! They're adorable. Looking forward to seeing what season three is going to bring for both these characters.

My Happy Hello! bookmark addiction continues. I saw this adorable Peter Parker one and had to snag it. I love it so much! I am going to have to find a way to display these in my house.

SO cute right? I love her shop. Be sure to visit and snag some for yourself.

Lastly are some books I purchased recently. Idecided to grab some of these during Chapters free shipping offer. I wanted Any Man for the signing I was going to (and because it sounds amazing) and I could not pass up getting Carry On after finishing up Fangirl.

Any Man by Amber Tamblyn (goodreads)
Carry On by Rainbow Rowell (goodreads)

Weekly Obsessions

The awesome Kelly at KellyVision started posting a weekly post highlighting whatever she happened to be obsessed with that week. I LOVE this idea, so much in fact that I will be doing it myself every Saturday.

A few fun things to share this week! I am also excited about spring finally being here. It's been nice to go out with a sweater instead of a winter jacket and the sunshine has been really nice!

BOOKS

American Royals by Katharine McGee (goodreads)

I was immediately intrigued by this book just from the deal announcement. It sounds like a perfect fit for anyone who is obsessed with royalty and the idea of 'what if'.

The deal announcement describes it as
A reimagining of modern-day America as a monarchy, the book tells the tale of the American royal family: the most famous family in the world, who play out their dramas on the greatest stage of all.
I look forward to hearing more about this as the fall 2019 release date gets closer.

HappyHello Bookmarks (link)

I have raved about the bookmarks from this Etsy shop a bunch of times. I was so excited when I saw that some new ones had been added and immediately purchased the Call Me By Your Name set!

How cute are these?! They are perfect. I am (im)patiently waiting for my set to arrive in the mail.

Quelque Chose Ice Cream With Macarons (link)

I stumbled across this new ice cream offering in downtown Ottawa. The place is called Quelque Chose and they are mainly a macaron place, but have added these delicious looking ice cream treats to their menu for the summer.

The S'more and Cotton Candy ones are a must try for me, but the rest of them look just as amazing. Check out their website, and if you live in the Ottawa area be sure to check them out this summer.

Weekly Obsessions

The awesome Kelly at KellyVision started posting a weekly post highlighting whatever she happened to be obsessed with that week. I LOVE this idea, so much in fact that I will be doing it myself every Saturday.

BOOKS

Cover Of All Of This Is True by Lygia Day Penaflor (goodreads)

Not only does the premise of this one sound AMAZING but the cover is just as incredible. I love that it has almost a true crime feel to it.

The crossing out of the word true also immediately makes a statement about what this book is. I am in love witht eh vivid red that was use as it's going to be eye catching on shelves. I am even more excited to dive into this one!

TV/Movie

Zac Efron As Ted Bundy

Zac shared another photo on his Twitter account that offers up a clearer look at his Ted Bundy. The makeup artists on this film are incredible because Zac looks so strikingly similar to Ted Bundy in this photo. It's more than a little eerie.

Copyright belongs to Zac Efron (from his Twitter)

This photo, obviously, caused me and my friends to freak out and completely lose all chill. We're all looking forward to a movie poster and trailer. I am encouraged by the fact that this is going to be focused more on Ted's girlfriend at the time than Ted himself as I think that has the potential to offer up something new to say about this much talked about case.

OTHER

HappyHello Bookmarks (link)

I am sure I have mentioned these bookmarks before. They are super cute and I have quite the addiction to them. I love that a wide varitety of fandoms are offered so there is something for everyone. She even offers amazing customs so you can request your favourite characters.

I am currently obsessed with the above Steve and Dustin set from Stranger Things. You should check out her Etsy shop and get a few for yourself!
